Summertime Music at the Cannery

The Wayward Hearts perform on the Cannery tank deck

Summer is fully underway and along with the great weather the Cannery welcomes another year of Music at the Cannery!  Last Friday (July 13th) we were entertained by The Wayward Hearts, a local band from Vancouver.  The wind on the day calmed down just before the start of the performance, making it perfect weather to enjoy the beautiful vocals by band members Bradley Damsgaard and Emily Helsdon while sipping some sparkling lemonade sold at the concession (new for this season!).  Playing some hits from their newest album High Impedance, the crowd was enthralled by a number of folk and blues hits, carefully intertwining the sounds of the soulful accordion, haunting violin, banjo and slide guitar.

Join us on Friday July 20th for the Halifax Wharf Rats,  for another rousing evening of Maritime folk music! Admission is $7 ($5 for kids 7-17); doors open at 6 and seating is first-come, first-served.
