Steveston Festival of Trees Votes are In!
As we ring in the New Year, all the votes have been tallied and the results are in!
19 local businesses and non-profit organizations participated in the 2019 Steveston Festival of Trees by decorating trees to showcase their community spirit and creativity. It was an incredibly close competition this year. After more than 1500 votes, only FIVE votes separated the top three trees!
Nurse Next Door placed third with 166 votes for their “Caring Tree”. In second place, the Rivers Edge Girl Guides secured 168 votes. And the winner for most popular vote goes to…. Steveston Community Society, who edged out the competition for a first-place finish with 170 votes! Every visitor to the Cannery during December received a token to vote, and those who visited on our free admission dates (during Cannery Farmers’ Market Sundays) donated over $400 and four large boxes of food to the Richmond Food Bank. We thank the generosity of voters during the competition!
Congratulations to the winners, and a huge thank you to everyone who participated.
