Historic Fun on Family Day

On Monday February 17th, have some historic fun on Family Day at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site. Open from 10am to 5pm, we’ll be revving up the canning line for Machine Demos at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. See how these unique machines were used to can salmon in the 1940s – 1950s, and find out how the famous Steveston canned salmon was processed before being shipped overseas.

Guided tours will be offered throughout day, and little ones can enjoy games and crafts in the Cannery Kids’ Alcove. For kids 6-11 years old, ask for a Xplorer Activity booklet and find out how to receive a souvenir Parks Canada gift.

All of the above is included in general admission; all Youth 17 and under have free admission!

Make a day of your visit and explore all of the other Family Day fun activities offered at our neighbouring Steveston historic sites.
