Featured Market Vendor Spotlight: Stephen’s Coffee

Stephen, ready with a fresh, hot cup!

KPU practicum student Tyson D., who is assisting the Gulf of Georgia Cannery Society’s marketing and event departments this fall/winter semester, will be introducing some of the feature (season-long) vendors at the Cannery Farmers’ Market

This week’s featured Cannery Farmers’ Market vendor is Stephen. The eponymous Stephen of Stephen’s Coffee is a localKwikwetlem First Nations member and former courier who partnered with the Spirit Bear Coffee Company in 2018. There are six different blends of coffee offered, each linked to a corresponding animal, from Raven Espresso to Frog Breakfast Blend. Coffee sold by Stephen and Spirit Bear is organic and fair trade, so you can rest easy knowing that, if you buy from Stephen, the coffee you are drinking is ethically sourced. And it helps that the coffee is as delightful as the man himself.

Stephen can be found at local events and markets such as the Cannery Farmers’ Market, and delivers his coffee to homes and small businesses in lieu of an actual storefront. Drop by and say hi at our next market on Sunday October 20th, from 10am to 3pm inside the historic cannery in Steveston.
