Stories of mountains of sockeye come alive among the clatter and hum of machines in the Canning Line exhibit. Encompassing over 4,000 sq. ft., the restored 1930s – 1950s era canning line demonstrates the process of salmon canning, from butchering to cooking.

Discover the stories of canneries on the West Coast, from the late 1800s to the early 1900s. Learn about the diverse workers who gathered here from different corners of the world, and the roles they played in the production of millions of cans of prized Pacific salmon.
