Visit the Gulf of Georgia Cannery this Family Day and learn all about how the fish in our oceans make their way to the tables of families everywhere! Take part in one of two guided tours available throughout the day and learn about life at the Cannery at a reading of My Monster Cannery. Stop in at the Cannery Kids Corner to share your Fish Tale, or craft a recipe card to share a family recipe involving fish or seafood!

Regular admission fees apply for entrance to all on-site activities. Admission is free for youth 17 and under.
Guided tours and My Monster Cannery story-times will begin at the Cannery map. For Sea to Me tours and Machine Demonstrations, maximum tour group capacities apply. Tour availability is first-come, first-served.
Sea to Me Tours:
- 10:30am, 12:00pm, 1:30pm, 3pm
- Tour runs approximately 25 minutes. Maximum capacity 10 families per session.
Machine Demonstrations:
- 11am, 12:30pm, 2pm, 3:30pm
- Tour runs approximately 25 minutes. Maximum capacity 30 people per tour session.
- Please note that this tour involves a live demonstration of machinery, and may include loud noises. Tour may not be suitable for those with auditory sensitivities.
My Monster Cannery Story-time:
- 11:30am, 1pm, 2:30pm
- Story runs approximately 20 minutes.

Activity Details
Sea to Me Tours
Step into the shoes of a worker on the Canning Line and gather everything you need to can a salmon. This guided Scavenger Hunt along the Canning Line takes young visitors through each step in the process to learn how salmon get from the ocean to our homes.
Best for kids aged 3-6.
Machine Demonstrations
The Canning Line is a complex system of machines and workers. Explore how each machine along the Canning Line works, and see them in action as Cannery staff guide you through the process canning salmon at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery.
Best for visitors ages 6+. Please note that this tour involves a live demonstration of machinery, and may include loud noises. Tour may not be suitable for those with auditory sensitivities.

Drop in to the Cannery Kids Corner anytime between 10:30 and 4:30 to share your stories and experiences related to fish and seafood.
